LAST STEP on project168




Letztes Jahr gab es diesen grossartigen Sampler "Sacred Symbols Of Mu" (Planet Mu). Obwohl dieser nun doch schon einige Monate auf dem Buckel hat, bringe ich es nicht über's Herz, diesen nun endlich aus meiner Lieblings-iPod-Playlist in den verdienten digitalen Ruhestand zu schicken. Vor allem bleibe ich immer wieder an dem Titel "Lives With Angel" von "Last Step" hängen. Wunderbarer Acid Track, der auch von Luke Vibert stammen könnte.
Manche Dinge dauern lange. Und so bin ich heute erstmalig auf Suche gegangen: Wer ist das denn überhaupt? Auf Last.fm findet sich zumindest die Info, dass es sich hierbei um ein Nebenprojekt von "Venetian Snares" (Aaron Funk) handelt. Na dann! Auch nicht schlecht! Ein paar Google-Clicks weiter, lande ich dann auf der famosen Website von project168, die sogar das mp3-Release "bhavani" von "Last Step" kostenlos zum Download anbieten. Wesentlich düsterer Acid als oben erwähnter Titel, aber - verdammt noch mal - auch nicht schlecht.... Aciiiiieeed :-)

Erwähnenswert sicherlich auch, was project168 überhaupt ist. Hier ein Auszug von ihrer Website:

What is Project 168?
Project 168 is aimed at making musicians more productive. The concept is to make an EP in 7 days (168 hours). All the music you hear on this site has been made within that time.

Why?
Mainly to make musicians more aware of what they can achieve in 7 days. Some artists work better under pressure, It's suprising what you can achieve when there is a deadline involved, as you will hear by listening to the previous efforts.

It also gives me an excuse to fill up my iPod.

I am far too busy with work/college/family/just walked out of county jail that week there's no way I can participate.
Don't give up so easily!
